IMMERSIVE ART INSTALLATIONS
The Record Shop (2023)
An interactive experience - we built an evolving immersive art zone at Bass Coast in the form of a record shop. Participants could paint on anything and the painted records were displayed over the zone as the merchandise was created. Nothing was sold, everything was free.

LoZ in 4DSound (2022)
An interactive 4D audio re-imagining of David Ward's new album, LoZ, where the listener becomes participant becomes part of the piece…
Spatial sound artist Alex Penney worked to deconstruct Ward's LoZ, creating a kaleidoscopic immersive musical experience.
Introspective and brimming with compelling musical ideas, LoZ is founded on intractable grooves, glittering falsetto, and the soulful magnetism that Ward brings to all of his work.
Lobe Spatial Sound Dome (2023)
The Lobe Dome at Bass Coast was the first outdoor 4D Sound installation in North America. We created a haven of spatial sound to harness the therapeutic and psychedelic power of spatial sound. Festival-goers enjoyed a cozy and mind-bending experience in the beautiful Nicola Valley.
Sea Trash See Treasure (2019)
The octopus representing duality was created almost entirely from marine debris sourced from Ocean Legacy. As a commentary on internal and ecological conflict, this piece lived as an art installation for Bass Coast Festival in 2019.

Are You Moving? (2021)
An exploration of our inner and outer worlds through soundscapes, field recordings, music, and samples, ‘Are You Moving?’ is a spatial sound adventure, different for every listener.
This installation was created in 4DSound for Lobe Studio.
WavePlay (2018)
An interactive cymatics display for Bass Coast 2018. This installation invites the player to play bass tones through a pool of water and observe the different standing waves that form.
(Video of pre-production for this installation since I don’t take any photos at Bass Coast…)
